If you’re the spouse or dependent of a service member or veteran, you can use the advocacy and support services of the Military & Veterans Resource Center to connect you with financial and emotional support. You’re also eligible for school-sponsored military discounts, and spouses may be eligible for the DoD MyCAA scholarship.
At UWF, we strive to provide multiple pathways to transfer credit, so you can complete your degree faster. Military experience or credit you’ve earned toward health-related certifications or licensures may transfer as credit toward your degree. With multiple start dates a year, you can begin your healthcare administration program online when it’s best for you.

VetSuccess on Campus
The VetSuccess on Campus program is a collaborative effort with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The VA has placed a full-time, experienced vocational rehabilitation counselor on campus to help you, your spouse and your dependents discover and use all VA benefits. Examples include medical care, home loans, counseling and resume development.
Veterans Mentoring Program
Developed by and for veterans to assist all military-affiliated students on their academic journey, a full-time Mentor Coordinator will assist military-affiliated students attending UWF. The MeCo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who can offer guidance, connect you to valuable resources and monitor GPAs for signs of academic distress to provide support so that you can maintain your eligibility for benefits. The MeCo offers assistance in these and other areas:
- Mentor assignment
- Tutoring assistance
- Internships
- Connections to disability services
- Coping skills
- Conflict resolution (between you and anyone on campus)
- Withdrawals
- Veteran skills and support group

The Student Veterans of America aims to foster positive social interactions between the veterans, spouses and dependents of UWF and the community and to talk about concerns they may experience.
